Founded by a team of NCAA Men's Basketball referees, ESPN branding gurus, winning coaches, championship-winning athletes, and serial entrepreneurs, our mission is clear: to create pathways for aspiring athletes to reach the collegiate level. From AAU to high school basketball, we're dedicated to providing seamless transitions and unlocking opportunities for players to shine on the court.

David J. Duggan
CO-CEO
Hailing from a small Iowa town, David Duggan emerged as a multi-sport standout and entrepreneurial force during his tenure at Independence High School. His passion for sports and business crystallized in the inception of the "Duggan Classic 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament," which burgeoned from his mother's driveway into a city-wide phenomenon, attracting local media attention. Relocating to Colorado in 2011, David served as Director of Basketball Operations at Power 2 Play Sports before transitioning to a corporate role at Furniture Row Companies, where he managed telecommunications for over 200 retail stores and collaborated with NASCAR's Furniture Row Racing Team. In 2018, he founded The Referee Suite LLC, returning the following year to Power 2 Play Sports, assuming various roles to enhance business operations. An esteemed NCAA basketball official, David officiates games nationwide, contributing significantly to collegiate basketball through teaching and recruitment, and fostering officials' development at all levels.

Growing up in a small town in Iowa, David attended Independence High School, where he excelled as a multi-sport athlete and serial entrepreneur. His passion for sports and business led to the creation of the first annual "Duggan Classic 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament" in his mother's driveway. David recruited his friends from the town and surrounding areas to participate in a winner-takes-all style tournament. During the event, David and his mother would prepare hotdogs and hamburgers, selling them to the players. The tournament became an annual staple, growing in size each year. Eventually, it expanded so significantly that it had to be moved to the city park, attracting local media coverage.
In 2011, David relocated to Colorado to co-found and help run Power 2 Play Sports. He served as the Director of Basketball Operations from 2011 to 2015. In 2015, David transitioned to a corporate role at Furniture Row Companies, where he served as the Telecommunications Director, managing over 200 retail stores and collaborating with the Furniture Row Racing Team, a part of NASCAR. In 2018, David founded The Referee Suite LLC. The following year, in 2019, he returned to Power 2 Play Sports, assuming various roles and titles to help manage and operate the business.
During the basketball season, David officiates men's college basketball games across the country for the NCAA and is a member of the NCAA Men's Basketball Officiating Consortium. He is affiliated with several collegiate conferences and contributes to the basketball community through his teaching, recruiting abilities, and dedication to empowering officials, helping them excel regardless of their level or experience.
Malik Waters
CO-CEO
Having been around sports his whole life, Malik Waters brings the acumen of a businessman, the heart of coach, and the drive of a top athlete to Ultimate Recruiting. As a youth, he excelled at soccer, football, track, and basketball. After earning All American honors in basketball, Waters went on to play Division I basketball at Holy Cross in Massachusetts. Once his collegiate career concluded, he began a teaching and coaching career of athletes at all levels that has spanned the last 22 years. In those years, he has helped over 120+ scholastic athletes earn college scholarships throughout the country. Malik is married to Jenice Waters of 15 years, and they have two lovely daughters, Jordan and Brooklyn.

With a Bachelor's degree in Business Management from Colorado University (CU), Judge Fuson seamlessly integrates his passion for basketball with his professional acumen to steer the advancement of youth basketball. As the Chief Operations Officer (COO) at Ultimate Recruiting, Judge transcends traditional operational management, infusing innovation and genuine fervor into his mission to foster the growth of young athletes. His proactive approach includes leveraging technology for more effective data analysis, providing precise insights to players and recruiters alike. Simultaneously, Judge's esteemed role as a basketball referee across NCAA conferences underscores his deep involvement in the sport. From a young age, Alex demonstrated his business acumen, launching a neighborhood enterprise at 11 while balancing academic and athletic commitments. His journey led him to a distinguished career in basketball officiating, culminating in his induction into the NCAA Men’s Officiating Consortium. Alongside his officiating duties, Alex manages multiple sports-related businesses, leveraging his expertise in sales and marketing to drive innovation in youth sports production and talent recruitment. Leveraging his expertise in sales and marketing, he aspires to redefine youth sports production, administration, and talent recruitment. Throughout his basketball journey, Brian has left an indelible mark, having played four years of college basketball himself, where he served as a Starting Point Guard, a two-year Captain, and led his team to its first-ever Conference Championship. His coaching tenure has seen him traverse the landscape of college basketball, from Junior College to Division 1, nurturing talent and fostering success at every turn. Brian's coaching acumen is evident in his impressive track record, having coached over 500 D1 players, over 1,000 college players, and over 15 NBA players, with five championships to his name both as a player and a coach.
In addition to his impactful coaching career, Brian is also a dedicated entrepreneur, serving as the Founder and CEO of multiple businesses. Despite his professional accomplishments, Brian's greatest pride lies in his role as a loving husband and father of three, and his unwavering commitment to his faith, family, and helping others. Whether on the court, in the boardroom, or behind the microphone, Brian Burton continues to inspire and uplift those around him, leaving a lasting legacy in the world of basketball and beyond.
